How to Reduce 5mg Lexapro

What you need.

Pill slicer and (2) weekly pill holders.

Lexapro at 5mg tablets

You should reduce the 5mg dosage as slowly as possible. The best way is to reduce Lexapro every 2 weeks by no more than 10 percent but with this low dosage of Lexapro, there is really no way to reduce it by 10 percent.

You reduce to the next lower dosage of Lexapro only when you are feeling very well. But not faster than every 2 weeks.

Use your pill slicer and cut the Lexapro into 4 equal parts. First by cutting them into half and then cutting those in half. There is no way to be perfectly exact, so keep that in mind. Be as close as you can.

Take (3) of the ¼ pieces of the tablet and put in one of the slots on your pill holder. Repeat until all 14 days are full.

It is recommended you cut more of the Lexapro into the ¼ size and store in a clean container until you need them in the future.

Take the (3) ¼ pieces of Lexapro for at least 2 weeks and if all is well, you can proceed to the next reduction. If you have had difficulty reducing this reduction amount, you should get the advised supplements, take them for 1 full week and then restart the 2-week reduction cycle. You should do fine now.

Never miss a day taking Lexapro. Try and take at the same time each day.

Next Reduction

Take (2) of the ¼ pieces of the tablet and put in one of the slots on your pill holder. Repeat until all 14 days are full.

If you are feeling any withdrawal, do not reduce further. Stay at this level and remain there until there are no side effects. Go back up to the last amount of Lexapro you were taking if the side effects do not go away within 2 days.

Next Reduction Take (1) of the ¼ piece of the tablet and put in one of the slots on your pill holder. Repeat until all 14 days are full.

Take the (1) ¼ piece of Lexapro for at least 2 weeks and if all is well, you have finished the taper process. If you have had difficulty reducing this reduction amount, you should get the advised supplements, take them for 1 full week and then restart the 2-week reduction cycle. You should do fine now.

If you are feeling any withdrawal do not DO NOTHING. This is very important for the full Lexapro Recovery. You either need to go back up to the last dosage you were doing well at or get the advised supplements. If you do nothing and the side effects remain, you will likely find yourself back up to 5mg of Lexapro or possibly 10mg of Lexapro to get any hopeful relief.
